How to Use Templates on Your Site
This is a brief overview of how to set up and use the Templates add-on for WP RSS Aggregator.
Step 1: Set up your template
- Go to RSS Aggregator > Templates.
- Open the Default template or create a new one.
- Set up your preferred options for this template.
- Preview the template using the preview link on the top right.
- When you're happy with the result, save the template.
Step 2: Use the template on a page or post
Once you have your template set up, it's time to use it somewhere on your site. This can be done either using the Gutenberg block or the shortcode, depending on your preferred editor.
2a. Using the Gutenberg block
- Open the page or post where you want to use the template.
- Search for the "WP RSS Aggregator Feeds" block and add it anywhere on the page.
- Select the sources you want to display, select the template from step 1, and see if there are any other changes you'd like to make.
- Apart from seeing a live preview of your selection in the editor, you may also Preview the page to see the template in action.
- Once you're happy with the result, publish or update the page.
- And voila! Your template is now live on your site.
2b. Using the shortcode
- From the template's Edit page, on the top right, click the button to "Copy Shortcode".
- Go to the page or post where you want to use the template.
- Paste the shortcode you copied in step 1 anywhere on the page.
- Add any other shortcode parameters you may want to use, such as selecting which sources to display.
- Preview the page to see the template in action.
- Once you're happy with the result, publish or update the page.
- And voila! Your template is now live on your site.
