How to Import Posts as Drafts with Feed to Post
There are times when you will want to review the content you are importing before publishing it.
You might want to do this to make sure the content is relevant to your audience or to add your own twist to it. Whatever the reason, Feed to Post makes this possible with one setting.
Here is how you can do this:
- When adding or editing a feed source, go to the Feed to Post - General meta box.
- From there, find the Post Status option.
- Set this to Draft.
- Save or Update the feed source.

From now on, the posts for that source will be imported as Drafts. This allows you, as the site administrator, to do whatever you want to do with that content before you publish it manually. Once it is published, the post will go live on your site.
NOTE: The post statuses listed in the Post Status dropdown are the ones available for the selected Post Type.
How to Apply This To All Feed Sources
If you are only just setting up your site with WP RSS Aggregator and you want the above to be the way every source works, then you can use the general Feed to Post setting.
- Go to RSS Aggregator > Settings.
- Click on the Feed to Post tab.
- From there, find the Post Status option.
- Set this to Draft.
- Save the settings.
Once this is done, all new feed sources will be created with the above already in place. So the source would be pre-set to import all posts as Drafts.
Of course, as we did above, you can change individual sources or all sources to import posts into any post status.
