Add-ons vs Bundles, & Which to Choose

What is the difference between add-ons and bundles?

WP RSS Aggregator currently offers 5 different add-ons, some of which require another add-on to work, as well as two bundles, each made of up 3 add-ons.

The bundles are solely there to provide a discounted option with the add-ons that are most commonly used together.

Here are our 5 premium add-ons, and which ones require other add-ons:

  • Feed to Post
    • Can not be used simultaneously with Excerpts & Thumbnails, unless using this option.

  • Full Text RSS Feeds
    • Requires Feed to Post.

  • Keyword Filtering
    • Can be used alongside all other premium add-ons.

  • Excerpts & Thumbnails
    • Can not be used simultaneously with Feed to Post, unless using  this option .

  • Categories
    • Can not be used simultaneously with Feed to Post, unless using this option.

Now here is an overview of our premium bundles and what each one includes:

  • Advanced Feeds Bundle
    • Includes:
      • Feed to Post
      • Full Text RSS Feeds
      • Keyword Filtering

  • Simple Feeds Bundle
    • Includes:
      • Excerpts & Thumbnails
      • Categories
      • Keyword Filtering

Both bundles can have other premium add-ons used alongside them (depending on the requirements and limitations listed above). They are not limited to be used solely on their own.

Why should I choose a bundle over an add-on?

The answer here depends on your needs. Here are a few scenarios:

  • If you are looking to import feed items and display them via our shortcode:
    • You should opt for the Simple Feeds Bundle if you need to do the following 3 things:
      • Add thumbnail images and/or excerpts to your shortcode display.
      • Add filtering options to your import process.
      • Add categorisation of feed sources.
    • You should opt for individual add-ons if you need to do 1 or 2 out of the above 3 things.
  • If you are looking to import content as WordPress posts (or any other CPT) and display them as such using your theme:
    • You should opt for the Advanced Feeds Bundle if you need to do at least 2 of the following 3 things:
      • Import the content as WordPress posts or any other CPT.
      • Import the full content from sources whose RSS feeds only provide excerpts.
      • Add filtering options to your import process.
    • You should opt for individual add-ons if you need to do 1 or 2 out of the above 3 things.

What is the difference with regards to license keys?

  • Purchasing individual add-ons means you have one license key for each add-on, and that license key can only be used for that add-on on the number of sites specified.
  • Purchasing a bundle means you have one license key for each add-on, and that license key can only be used for that add-on on the number of sites specified. You also have a license key for the bundle itself.
    • The bundle license key is not to be used anywhere on your site.
    • It is only used as a reference for the complete bundle and to renew the license keys for the entire bundle at once.
