Feed to Post Display Using Your Theme

When using the Feed to Post add-on with WP RSS Aggregator, you are importing the content from your feed sources into WordPress Posts or some other Custom Post Type of your choice.

Once it has been imported, you need to display it somewhere, but where?

By default, any well-coded WordPress theme has a dedicated template for a blog and individual blog posts. That means that by setting a specific Page on your site to be the "Blog" page, the posts will be displayed using the theme's template styling on the URL of that page.

Here's a quick overview of how to select which page to display the imported content on.

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize.
  2. From the menu on the left, select Homepage Settings.
  3. If you select Your latest posts, the imported content will be displayed alongside your own content (if you have any original content on the site) on your homepage.
  4. If you select A static page, the imported content will be displayed on the page you select for the Posts page option.

Creating & Displaying Custom Post Types

If you are importing into a custom post type, then your theme needs to support its display.

Here are a few tutorials on setting up and displaying custom post types.
